Looking closely:
 

  Many of my paintings are executed on wood. My technique begins with a realistic approach. But, looking closely at sections of the  art you will see what looks like small abstracts. I sometimes apply paint in layers of color. Lines are scratched and drawn with the tip of the brush. This creates movement along with detail.
